Management positions

The University management of the University of Vienna is gender balanced, but the Rectorate and the Senat are headed by men. Institute and department heads have the highest proportion of men in academic leadership positions, while the proportion of women among deans and center directors has risen slightly in recent years. The proportion of women in administrative management positions is consistently high, but falls to 27 % at the highest level of service institutions (DLE), which is even lower than the proportion of women in scientific management positions.
